Aim To investigate the phaimacokinetics profile of salidroside in rats Methods A method for determination of salidroside in rat plasma by using HPLC-MS/MS has been developed and validated. The pharmacokinetics of salidroside and salidroside in the extracts of Rhodiola rosea L were compared, Results The detection limit is 0.15mugmL~(-1) in rat plasma The recovery of salidroside spiked into tat plasma at concentration of 10, 20 and 100 mugmL~(-1) was 76.6%, 83 6% and 84 7%, respectively Other components in the extracts of Rhodiola rosea L influence the absorption of salidroside, but haven't any influence on the metabolism of salidroside. Conclusion The utility of the validated method was demonstrated by investigating the pharmacokinetics of salidroside and salidroside in the extracts of Rhodiola rosea L in the Wistar rat
