Accelerated global warming is a crisis of our making. "Architecture 2030 estimates that buildings are responsible for 39 of global greenhouse gas emissions, more than one-fourth of this is from build-ing material manufacturing. Much of that comes from concrete and metal. The design and specification decisions of architects have a significant impact on global environmental issues."
