The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) on behalf of the Government of India launched 'Special Campaign 2.0' from 14th September, 2022 to 31st October, 2022 specifically focusing on cleanliness all around, reducing pendency and improving work-culture of the Government organizations throughout the country. Spearheaded by the Minister of Railways, all Railway Units viz. the Railway Board, Zonal Railways, Production Units and Public Sector Undertakings through their tireless nodal officers, publicity divisions and EnHM divisions contributed to the overwhelming success of the campaign through 10,700 cleanliness campaigns in Railway premises viz., stations, station circulatory areas, hospitals, schools, rest houses, staff running rooms, staff colonies, workshops and other office premises thereby surpassing the target of 7337 set before the Council of Ministers. Special emphasis was laid for mechanized cleaning trains and stations (including approaches to major stations) and collection and safe disposal of plastic and other waste. One such effort of the Ministry of Railways was appreciated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in his tweet.
