Orlen Unipetrol Starts Up New Facility For the Production of DCPD in Europe

Praha-Orlen Unipetrol said it has opened a new 26,0000-t/y dicyclopen-tadiene(DCPD)production unit in the Czech Republic,making it"one of the four largest"producers in Europe.The CZK 831-million plant utilizes a process developed by Orlen Unipetrol researchers in collaboration with the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague,Czech Republic.DCPD will be produced with a distillation purity between 80 and 94 for use in the further production of polymer materials,resins and chemical specialties.
