CONSIDERING HOW VALUABLE honeybees are to humanity, how crucial they are to crop pollination and thus to our food security, they are surprisingly nondescript creatures. Yet it's not the physique of these small brown insects that is amazing, but theircomplex behaviour. Honeybees are the most highly evolved insects of all - only ants and termites come anywhere close.
