Exxon Mobil believes it is crucial to break ground on major carbon capture projects in the next several years if the technology is to successfully scale at the rate the world's climate goals require. “There's been lots of press releases about collaboration and memorandums of understanding, but very few definitive project agreements” in low-carbon areas like carbon capture and storage (CCS), said Exxon Low-Carbon Solutions President Dan Ammann. “And that is why it's our immediate priority to build what we call our foundational projects.”
