Astudy to understand environmental conditions and its effects on feed moisture was conducted across 17 South Asian locations where feed industries are well established. This study, conducted over a period of one year (2013), was done to obtain a better insight into the feed industry. The locations were: Kolkata, Patna, Dhaka, Jaipur, New Delhi, Lucknow, Pune, Nashik, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Cochin, Hyderabad, Karim Nagar, Bangalore and Colombo. The mean temperature and relative humidity (RH) for each month was recorded.In general, South Asian countries are presumed to have humid subtropical climates. On the basis of climatic conditions, three climatic zones, namely, hot and humid, hot and extreme dry, and cold and dry, were observed during different time periods.
