5.1 Count of the sewing threads is an important factor for their purpose of uses and also to influence their properties. 5.2 Sewing threads are reverse twisted to prevent untwisting during sewing operation. 5.3 Breaking strength of the sewing threads should be at certain satisfactory level to minimize breakages during sewing operation. 5.4 Brittleness of the sewing threads are assessed through knot and loop strength behaviours. 5.5 Sewing threads must not have any protruding ends to justify the hairiness of the threads at zero level. 5.6 The selected classes of sewing threads have shown shrinkage below 1% level and are suitable for respective end uses. 5.7 The threads possess a good level of abrasion resistance to prevent the yarns from flexing and bending. 5.8 The ticket number for identification of the sewing threads, selected for the investigation strongly recommends that these ideally suitable to use in their respective field of applications.
