Iran is looking for an alternative international oil contractor to develop its offshore South Pars oil layer now that its first choice, Denmark's Maersk Oil, is about to be snapped up by France's Total in a $7.5 billion acquisition, the country's oil minister said Monday. "The oil layer bumped into a problem, which is Total's acquisition of Maersk," Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zanganeh told reporters in Tehran Monday before meeting his Brazilian counterpart Fernando Coelho Filho.
