A large portion of energy consumed in Saudi Arabia is attributed to buildings. Some factors such as building services and thermal comfort should remain integral part in harsh environmental conditions specially within the religious buildings. Mosques play an important role for Muslims, which is regarded as structures with distinct requirements and features. Energy conservation is attained through Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) taking into account the efficient utilization of energy and its analysis. Energy is also conserved through composite scenarios involving energy auditing within Mosques. This paper offers the outcome of the energy modeling and audit including the comparison for various EEMs to determine the most effective measure in the reduction of the operating cost and energy consumption in mosques. The results were obtained through the transformation of the entire measurements and auditing information into energy model software inputs. Additionally, this paper presets results for economic appraisal for various modeling scenario and energy measures.
