SHUTTLEWORTH NAVAL AIR DAY

All the superlatives came out for the Shuttleworth Collection's first Fly Navy show in June 2016, and quite right too. One of the best displays at Old Warden in many years, said some. A highlight of the whole season, remarked others. That it was, but back in June 1989 another event with maritime aviation at its core had similarly excelled. Shuttleworth's Naval Air Day marked the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Naval Air Service, and did so in a style probably -never say never - destined to remain unrepeatable.
