Test stand to evaluate the possibility of using visible-light photodetector arrays as a part of active pulsed observation devices
We developed a device and test stand to investigate the capabilities of charge-coupled-device- (CCD-) array and complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor photodetectors. The test stand made it possible to control the photodetectors using arbitrary waveforms, synchronize the photodetectors with a laser emitter, and receive images from the photodetectors and transmit them to external devices. Experiments performed on the test stand showed that interline transfer CCD photodetectors can be used as a part of active pulsed observation devices without using an electro-optical converter as a shutter.
