Long-term, stable operation of trickle-bed bioreactors remainsdesirable but is difficult to achieve for industrial processes, whichgenerate continuous streams of dilute gaseous hydrocarbons. Masstransfer and kinetics parame- ters are difficult to measure,complicating predictive esti- mates. Two methods are presented whichwere used to pre- dict the importance of mass transfer versuskinetics limita- tions in operating trickle-bed biofilter.
