Indian agrochemical business Best Agrolife (New Delhi) has agreed a collaboration with Syngenta to market the herbicide, Movondo (pyroxasulfone 85% WG), in India. The former notes that the active ingredient will be manufactured by its subsidiary, Seedlings India. Pyroxasulfone is intended for the pre-emergence control of broadleaf weeds such as canary grass (Phalaris minor) affecting wheat, as well as those impacting corn (maize) and soybeans. Best Agrolife estimates the annual Indian market for pyroxasulfone at some INR 4,500 million ($54.4 million at the current rate) and anticipates capturing a share of around INR 3,000-3,500 million ($36-42 million) over the next three years.
