Mobile recycling to create space for 'aspern Vienna's Urban Lakeside'

One of the largest urban development projects in Europe -"aspern Vienna's Urban Lakeside" — will be set up in the northeast of Vienna within the next 20 years. On 3~(rd) July 2009 was the start of the first stage of development. They started to demolish the runway of the former airfield Aspern (Fig. 1) to create space for an R & D park. A technology centre will be set up there from 2010, for which recently the first stage of an international architectural competition was put out to tender.
