Four teams have been shortlisted for site investigation and other civils work on the Coire Glas hydro storage scheme in Scotland. They will compete to deliver a range of services to help client SSE Renewables make a final decision on whether to proceed with the 1.5GW project in the Great Glen. If approved, it would be the UK's first pumped storage project in three decades. The finished facility could store 30GWh of electricity. The shortlisted consortiums for civils packages are Bechtel, Acciona Construction and Webuild; Eiffage Genie Civil, BeMo Tunnelling UK, Bam Nuttall and Marti Tunnel; Strabag UK; and Dragados.
