I think the general consensus of most aviation intelligence sources is that we are still not back to pre-COVID levels of passenger traffic or even airline capacity globally. Some domestic markets have rebounded better than others (such as the US), and indeed, some sub-sectors have seen greater levels of performance over the past few years, such as cargo. We know how fragile the aviation industry is and the significant effect that external factors can have, whether they are economic, political or driven by conflict or health risks. We have seen it in a cyclical pattern many times, although never as profound as COVID-19. In all cases, the market recovers (fortunately, aviation is an inherent growth industry), but the pandemic has shown us that adapting is vital. Being agile and innovative in how you react to the changing landscape will make the difference between surviving or becoming a victim of any future crisis.
