The US oil and gas rig count climbed three to a 22-month high 728 in the week ended Jan. 26, rig data provider Enverus said. The increase in drilling activity was realized mainly in rigs chasing oil, which climbed three to 553, the highest since the week ended Dec. 15. The number of rigs chasing mostly gas was flat on the week at 175. The combined rig count was last higher during the week ended March 25, 2020, at 766.
