Denbury Resources has secured another 18,000 acres for future CO2 sequestration in Louisiana, further positioning the company to provide storage services for the many industrial emitters in the Gulf Coast region. Denbury said it has signed a deOnitive lease agreement with a landowner near the town of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Based on the “excellent geologic characteristics, ” the company estimates the new site will have sequestration capacity of more than 80 million tons of CO2.
