Symposium on Environmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment: New Models for Environmental Management-The High Production Volume (HPV) Chemical Challenge

Papers are invited for the Eleventh Symposium on Environmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment: New Models for Environmental Management-The High Production Volume (HPV) Chemical Challenge. This symposium is sponsored by ASTM Committee E47 on Biological Effects and Environmental Fate, and will be held April 2-4, 2001, in Phoenix, Ariz. The HPV chemical challenge programs are voluntary responses by the chemical industry to evaluate current data, fill data gaps, and provide public analyses, in order to improve environmental management of the major chemicals used in world commerce. This symposium will provide a forum and opportunity for discussion and evaluation of progress mid-way in these programs. In addition to the symposium technical sessions, E47 expects to host meetings of different working proups already involved in HPV assessments to facilitate discussion of overall progress to date and potential improvements. The symposium will encourage interaction between the attendees in order to integrate their experience with ASTM standards and the immediate needs of HPV programs.
