Legislative acts and regulations on water management and also the high cost of water consumption and waste water treatment require ever-greater efforts by the gravel and sand industry. Already more than 8 years ago, special bucket wheel systems for the recovery of fine sands from the waste water were supplied to the market by Fritz Stichweh GmbH, Salzhemmendorf Efforts are now increasingly focused on providing water circuits. The considerations on the usefulness of waste water discharged from a fine sand bucket wheel system were put into practice. A specific application of partial waste water flows enables this system to reduce fresh and waste water volumes for gravel and sand processing as well as improving efficiency of fine sand recovery and sand quality. Today this continued development - meanwhile protected by patent - enables a recycling of water which allows a reduction of fresh water consumption of up to 60percent. Using an example of application, the taking and provision of recycling water from the respective dewatering bucket wheel is presented for the prewashing process.
