I am writing my first editorial after 19 years as editor of The Coleopterist.A lot has changed, especially the way in which digital technology has become an essential part of both the writing and printing of the magazine.Volume 11 in 2002 had no photographs and very few diagrams:both were expensive and difficult to produce. There were no 'new to Britain's' that year though Mark Telfer found a new carabid at Dungeness to kick off the April 2003 issue.Remarkably, eleven of the authors in 2002 also have an article in the 2020 volume.
