摘要

A study was undertaken to assess the sensitivity of crop plant species towards air pollution at Burdwan University farm and crop field at Burnpur, Asansol.Several parameters including ambient air quality monitoring ( SOx, NOx and SPM were analysed)aswell as ascorbic acid, pH, total chlorophyll, relative water content of seven different crop species at two different sites were analysed to evaluate the air pollution tolerance index of different crop plant species in old alluvial soil zone and in the red lateritic zone of Burdwan District, West Bengal. From the detailed study it was found that Lycopersican esculentium shows the highest APTI value (10.05) at Burnpur whereas Raphanus sativus showed the highest APTI value (7.55) at CRSF, Burdwan University. Therefore these two species value are referred to as the air pollution sensitive species at two different soil zones of Burdwan District.
