Aiming to spur innovations in general aviation aircraft, a new ASTM International technical committee will help facilitate changes that will in part transform the way smaller aircraft are manufactured and certified around the world. ASTM Committee F44 on General Aviation Aircraft brings together diverse global stakeholders during a watershed period in the industry ― when new approaches are needed to stem rising manufacturing and ownership costs, streamline lengthy certification processes, increase aircraft safety and reverse declines in the active pilot population.
