ASTM and the Society for Tribology and Lubricating Engineers (STLE) are cosponsoring a May 1995 symposium on health and safety of metalworking fluids. "It's the first attempt in many years to bring together those involved in current metalworking fluid health and safety research and the audience of key stakeholders," says John Howell, chairman of ASTM Subcommittee E34.50 on Health and Safety Standards for Metalworking Fluids, part of Committee E-34 on Occupational Health and Safety.
