The Codagu Planters Association and Coffee Board have jointly conducted a "Coffee Cupping Session" for the first time in South Kodagu at the Coffee Board Technical Evaluation Centre, Gonicoppal on 25th February 2022. This programme was intended to create an awareness in growers on the need to improve quality of their coffee at the estate level. The coffee samples sent by the growers were sent to Coffee Board Bangalore for roasting and grinding and these samples were cup tasted and the results announced during the said programme. The growers were provided an opportunity to taste their samples. Dr.K.Sridevi, Deputy Director (Extension), Coffee Board, Gonicoppal welcomed the participants and Sri. B.V.Mohan Das, Chairman of Codagu Planters Association inaugurated the programme. In his address Mr.Mohan Das said coffee has been considered as the 'One Product' from Kodagu District under the "One District - One Product' scheme of the government. So the growers should avail the benefits offered under this scheme to move up the value chain.
