Although roller presses have been successfully used for some time for the comminution of cement clinker for instance, the high wear on the rolls has prevented them from becoming similarly established in ore dressing. With further developments, for example of the material Hexadur WT II and design improvements with regard to the press drive and hydraulics systems, harder and more abrasive materials can now be economically comminuted in roller presses.
