Argentina’s Capex to step up oil, gas development on export opportunities

Capex, one of the top 10 oil producers in Argentina, plans to step up its oil and natural gas production to take advantage of export opportunities as the country’s output starts to surpass local demand, CFO Matias Salerno said Jan. 11. A first project will be in Vaca Muerta, one of the world’s largest shale plays. The company has already drilled two vertical wells to explore the potential of Parva Negra Oeste, a block in the dry gas window of Vaca Muerta in northern Patagonia.
