Siemens Supplies Gearless Drive Systems with 'Frozen Charge Shaker' for New Ore-Grinding Mills in Zambia

The Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Croup (I&S) has received an order from Equinox Copper Ventures Ltd. of Zambia to equip two ore-grinding mills for the Lumwana copper project with gearless "Simine Mill CD" drive systems (see figure). The project includes supervision of the assembly work and commissioning. The contract is worth approximately 15 mill. euros and the ore-crushing mills are scheduled to start operating at the end of 2007.
