Srirathampitak Farm beats standards with first crop

Sirathampitak Farm harvested its first flock of about 120,000 ducks in February 2009 with an average body weight of 3.3kg in 45 days, mortality of 1.5% and a feed conversion ratio (FCR) of about 2.4. This is higher than the 3.2kg standard for 45 day-rearing in closed houses set by Bangkok Ranch Pic, Thailand's largest duck integrator that contracted the farm to grow ducks for processing. "The success was a result of good management and application of quality equipment designed and tuned by GSI Asia to be suitable for ducks," said Sirathampitak Farm's Managing Director Thitiwat Sirathampitak.
