Boontan Jui-sieng-prao, owner of the farm, switched to the closed farming system in April 2006, as part of the government's efforts to limit the spread of the bird flu in the country. He raises a total of 1,010 ducks and his farm is part of the government's pilot project to raise ducks in the closed farming system. Farms under this project have received financial support from the government.
