Guangdong Suishen: Stable development of native breeds

Zhanqing, some 100km west of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, is the seat of Cantonese cuisine that propagates yellow chicken as a 'must have' in the daily menu. Building on this, Guangdong Suishen Poultry Technology Development Co established its headquarters in the lush forest and hillside in Sihui, a region said to offer a sound environment for free-range chicken production. Mai Zhiqin, General Manager of Suishen started his business as a collective chicken breeder farm and steadily gained ground in the surrounding areas. The growth of his company helped improve the living conditions of farmers, through improved chicken farming standards.
