SBJ supports West Kalimantan'sbird flu control program

Since 2010, the local government of West Kalimantan, Indonesia has been tightening the control of poultry and its products coming into the province in an effort to regain its bird flu free status. DOC importation is considered the biggest risk in thespread of the virus.Considering the situation, Satwa Borneo Jaya (SBJ) decided to venture into layer PS breeding in 2012. The unit has the distinction of being not only the company's first layer breeding unit, but also the first in the province.First production of commercial layer DOC of the unit was seen in July 2013. Before the existence of the unit, supplies from Java met local needs for commercial layer DOC.
