Bumper grain supply expected in 2014/2015

The US Soybean Board expects 2014/2015 to be a record year with US soybean production hitting 98.93 million tonnes compared to 89.51 and 82.56 million tonnes in 2013 and 2012 respectively.Although the year began with just 3.53 million tonnes, end stocks are expected to touch 8.98 million tonnes.Speaking at the 11th Southeast Asia US Agricultural Co-operators Conference held in Danang, Vietnam, in August, USB Chairman, Jim Call revealed soybean planted hectares in 2014 increased to 32.98 million against 31.21 million last year. US soybean yields, meanwhile are expected to increase to 3 tonnes/ ha in 2014 against 2.9 and 2.7 tonnes/ha in 2013 and 2012 respectively.
