US giant Dow Chemicals along with Japan-based Mitsui will create one of the world's largest biopolymers operations in Dow's sugar cane facility in Santa Vitoria, Brazil, by produc-ing sugar cane-based ethanol, This will then be converted to biopolymers, which will be a green alternative and drop-in replacement for the high-performance flexible pack-aging, hygiene and medical markets, offer-ing customers the same performance at- tributes with a more sustaina-ble environmental profile.
