PTT and Mitsubishi Chemical plan bioplastics plant in Thailand

Thailand's oil and gas conglomerate PTT and Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical are in talks to jointly build a bioplastics plant in Thailand.The joint venture will produce either polylactic acid (PLA) or polybutylene succinote (PBS) type of bioplastics. Discussions of the project started as early as last year, The two companies also talked about producing upstream raw materials such as lactic acid which will be used by the bioplastics plant.
