Johnson Controls has entered into the first professional joint venture for interior systems and components with Chinese automaker Chery. A total investment of US30 million, the establishment of Johnson Controls (Wuhu) Automotive Interiors marked the beginning of a strategic cooperation between the two firms, bringing new competitive opportunities for the Chinese auto components market. The joint venture company will produce mainly vehicle interiors including instrument panels and consoles, pillar and door panels, as well as providing R&D services for related products to support Chery Automobiles.
