PTT Exploration & Production (PTTEP) of Thailand continues to find significant quantities of natural gas in its series of Zawtika and Kaknonna appraisal wells in its 100% held block M9, located in the Gulf of Martaban, 300km south of Yangon, Myanmar. Zawtika-3, to the southeast of the Zawtika-1A gas discovery, reached a total depth of 2274m and encountered eight natural gas bearing zones totaling 65m in thickness. A test on one zone indicated gas flow rates of around 27mmscf/d.
