By late transplanting, I don't mean transplanting in the fall after missing the spring transplanting season. Late transplanting is transplanting one, two, three, or four years late. Why would transplanting be delayed so long? The plant looked good asit was; not paying really close attention to the condition of the plant; personal issues or illness; compulsively buying more plants than could be properly maintained; or just not knowing what to do, especially with forest plantings or saikei.
