Land-based aquaculture is one of the food production system for sea foods in the facility on shore and this is expected to accelerate diversification of aquaculture production. In this explanation,the technical principle,beneficially characteristics,and future prospects of the system were summarized. Water purification system is equipped to maintain their water quality for reared fish in the part of the systems (Recirculating aquaculture system,RAS),and it can control rearing environment for growth enhancement and controlling maturation of fish,accumulate waste material and utilize the waste by connecting with plant production system. Therefor this system can realize the high efficiency and eco-friendly food production. Land-based aquaculture systems including RASs have been utilized in the various situation at home and abroad in recent years. Based on various ideas,it is expected to be expanded production and spread land-based aquaculture in the future.
