Total Starts Up Big Biogas Plant

TotalEnergies has started biogas production from France's largest renewable gas plant, the BioBearn plant at Mourenx in the southwest of the country. The plant will produce 69 GWh of biomethane (7 million cubic meters) in 2023, and feed it into the regional gas grid. Output will eventually ramp up to full capacity of 160 GWh per year. The plant will also produce fertilizer.
