A New Cytogenetic Variant of Translocation Down’s Syndrome

Chromosome studies in a child with Down’s syndrome revealed 47 chromosomes and only four small acrocentrics. The odd chromosome was a small almost metacentric chromosome of the same length as those in group F. In addition one of the chromosomes of the B group (presumably number 5) showed a deletion of a portion of the short arm.
