Siemens Water Technologies is add-ing the new Sludge Belt Dryer to its array of sludge dewatering options. This convective dryer is supplied in a one- or two-belt design that provides uniform evaporation and has an ad-justable speed belt to vary residence times. System advantages include efficient operation in minimal space, low emissions, low dust, a granular final product and a low thermal requirement with possible heat re-covery from low temperature waste energy sources. By making better use of wastewater solids and waste heat, communities can lower their energy costs, helping to save space in land-fills and encouraging the recycling of nutrient-rich wastewater solids.
