RailTel Corporation of India ltd., a Miniratna Category 1 CPSU was formed on 26th September 2000 with an authorized capital of Rs. 1000 crore. RailTel is currently one of the very few debt free profit-making Telecom PSUs. It was set-up, for modernizing the Telecommunication system of Indian Railway through an internal entity. RailTel has exclusive Right of way (ROW) of the 67415 RKM of Indian Railway network. RailTel's current network comprises of 59000+ RKM along Railway Track, 18000+ RKM City access network, 7000+ point of presence and a number of telecom towers across country.
