Preparing the way for Shah Deniz

Marine and offshore drilling contractor Seacore recently completed a prestigious pound1.2 million contract for BP to install 15 preconductor well casings in its Shah Deniz gas and condensate field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea (see feature, page 12). The three-week project involved creating be4spoke internal casing packer drives with underreaming and mud injection to install the 42in diameter casings to a depth of about 27m.
