The Basker-Manta offshore southeast Australia oil development in the Gippsland Basin,eastern Victoria,has taken a positive turn with the completion of an extended production test (EPT) of Basker-2 and the drilling of Basker-4.The Basker-2 EPT produced 870,000 barrels of oil,considerably reducing development risk and opening the potential for additional development of further reserves,report 50:50 joint venturers Anzon Oil Australia (operator) and Beach Petroleum.
