Nido Petroleum reports that the Galoc-3 horizontal production well, offshore Palawan Island, flowed oil unassisted at a maximum rate of 5397b/d during clean up flow testing, confirming the integrity of the well and installed completion equipment. The is the first time since 1988 that Galoc oil has come to surface. Preparations are in hand for installation of the Galoc-4 subsea tree followed by similar testing of that well utilising the drillship Energy Searcher. Upon conclusion of the completion programme the rig will demobilise to Singapore where mooring and riser system hookup to the FPSO Rubicon Intrepid will take place.
