After being grounded at the start of the season following an airworthiness directive from the Federal Aviation Administration to check the main spar fittings for cracks, B-17G Flying Fortress G-BEDFSally B flew again from Duxford on 22 June after non-destructive tests showed there to be no problems with the beloved bomber. On 5 June the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum's newly completed Spitfire Ⅸ cockpit was unveiled by the museum's patron, the Duke of Richmond, Lennox and Gordon (pictured on the right), who is also founder of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, and president of the British Automobile Racing Club. After being based at Cambridge Airport for almost exactly 70 years, the DH Tiger Moths of the Cambridge Flying Group moved to a new home at Old Warden on 19 June. More in next month's issue.
