A Micro-Step-Separating System was realized for investigating phenomena of initial state of separable contacts. This system can control the contact separation in a discrete way with O.5μm step. From this observation, we expect to elucidate the contact bridge phenomena with more sophisticated way because we can approach them under the condition approaching to thermal equilibrium. This paper shows the observed contact voltage at the initial state of contact separation. Ag and Pd contacts were observed. The observation showed that the contact voltage rose up and fell down to the stable voltage at each step separation. The stable voltage became higher than that of the previous one, and the voltage rise time of the next step became faster than that of the previous step. The qualitative elucidation was made about the voltage variation mentioned above. Bridge voltage rise time difference due to thermal off-set can be elucidated in qualitative way.
