On-site preparations have begun in earnest for one of the Indian sub-continent's most challenging hydrocarbon projects yet - Reliance Industries' KG-D6 gas field development in the Bay of Bengal. KG-D6, India's first deepwater natural gas field development is located 35-40km offshore in the Krishna-Godavari Basin in the Bay of Bengal, about 50km southeast of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.
